Plain-English answerHow many cards are in a Palworld Card Game deck?
A legal deck uses exactly 50 Main Deck cards plus a separate Soul Deck of exactly 10 Soul cards.
Plain-English answerHow many players can play?
Palworld Official Card Game is designed for two players.
Plain-English answerHow do you win or lose the game?
You win when your opponent loses. A player loses when their life reaches 0 or less, or when their Main Deck has no cards remaining. Simultaneous losses are a draw.
Plain-English answerHow much life does each player start with?
Each player starts with 10 life.
Plain-English answerHow many cards are in the opening hand?
Each player draws five cards from their Main Deck for their opening hand.
Plain-English answerHow does a mulligan or redraw work?
Each player may redraw once during setup. Return all five cards to the Main Deck, shuffle, then draw five new cards. You cannot keep part of the hand.
Plain-English answerDoes the second player start with an extra Soul?
Yes. During setup, the player going second puts one card from their Soul Deck into their Soul Area.
Plain-English answerDoes the first player draw on the first turn?
No. The player going first skips the Draw Phase on the first turn and proceeds to the Soul Phase.
Plain-English answerCan I attack on the first turn or with a Pal deployed this turn?
Yes. A standing Pal may attack even if it was deployed during that turn, unless an effect prevents it. The first-player exception is skipping the first Draw Phase, not an attack restriction.
Plain-English answerWhat can a Pal attack?
A Pal can attack the opposing player, an opposing Structure, or an opposing Pal in the rest state. Assault allows a Pal to attack opposing Pals in the stand state.
Plain-English answerHow does blocking work?
When you are attacked, you may rest one eligible standing Pal you control. That Pal becomes the new attack target. A Stealth attack cannot be blocked.
Plain-English answerWhat happens when one Pal attacks another Pal?
Both combat Pals deal damage equal to their Power to each other. A Pal is put into the Graveyard when its damage is equal to or greater than its current Power.
Plain-English answerDoes a Structure deal damage back when attacked?
No. The attacking Pal deals damage equal to its Power to the Structure, but the Structure does not deal damage back.
Plain-English answerHow does player damage and a damage check work?
The attacker deals player damage equal to its Strike. Send that many cards from the top of the defending player's Main Deck to the Graveyard one at a time. If no Lucky icon appears, that player loses life equal to the full damage. If a Lucky icon appears, the check stops and that life loss is cancelled.
Plain-English answerWhat does the Lucky icon do during damage?
When a Lucky-icon card goes from the top of the deck to the Graveyard during player damage resolution, the check stops and that damage's life loss is cancelled. The Lucky card and any cards already checked remain in the Graveyard.
Plain-English answerHow many colors can a deck use?
A Main Deck may use up to two of Red, Blue, Green and Purple. Colorless cards can be included alongside those colors.
Plain-English answerHow many copies of the same card can I use?
You may include no more than four cards with the same full card name in the Main Deck.
Plain-English answerHow many Lucky-icon cards can a deck contain?
A Main Deck may include up to eight cards with the Lucky Pal icon. The normal four-copy rule still applies.
Plain-English answerWhat does Quick mean?
Quick cards and abilities may be used during the battle Quick Step. On your own Main Phase, a Quick card can also be played at normal legal timing.
Plain-English answerWhat does Interrupt do?
Interrupt is a Quick ability used from the hand. Pay its listed cost to nullify the opponent's attack, which moves the battle directly to the end-of-battle step.
Plain-English answerHow does Taunt work?
If a card with Taunt can legally be attacked, the opponent must choose a Taunt card as the attack target. If several are legal, the attacker chooses among them.
Plain-English answerWhat does Stealth mean?
Stealth means that attacks made by that card cannot be blocked.
Plain-English answerWhat does Assault mean?
Assault allows a Pal to choose an opposing Pal in the stand state as its attack target.
Plain-English answerCan I rest three Souls to draw a card?
Yes. During your Main Phase, you may pay three Souls to draw one card. This action can be used only once per turn.
Plain-English answerWhat should a new player buy first?
Start with either Trial Deck because it contains a complete 50-card Main Deck, 10-card Soul Deck, counters, a paper playmat and guide. Buy boosters later for collecting and upgrades.
Plain-English answerWhere can I buy Palworld Card Game products?
Use Bushiroad's official retailer finder first, then confirm the product code and language before buying.
Plain-English answerCan I start playing with only a booster pack?
No. A booster pack does not contain the exact 50-card Main Deck and 10-card Soul Deck needed to play. Start with a Trial Deck.
Plain-English answerWhat is the best deck or launch-day tier list?
There is no reliable tournament meta yet. The two official Trial Decks are the only fixed complete lists at launch; treat other decks as testing ideas until verified event results exist.
Plain-English answerWhat are the Dawn of Palpagos pull rates?
Bushiroad confirms 100 base card types and 61 parallel types, but has not published complete per-rarity pull odds. Early box openings are not enough to claim reliable rates.
Plain-English answerWhen are the Grand Release Tournaments?
Official tournament stores may hold one Grand Release Tournament between August 1 and August 31, 2026. Check the official event page and Bushi Navi for participating stores.
Plain-English answerWhat Palworld Card Game products come after launch?
The official product list shows Sleeve & Card Set Vol. 1 for October 2, 2026 and the Legends Awaken booster for October 30, 2026.
Plain-English answerIs there any confirmed Palworld Card Game errata?
Yes. The official Red/Blue Trial Deck page says one printed card omitted its Strike text. The card remains tournament legal and is played as though the correct Strike text is present.
Q&A about CardsI have three Pals in my base with different card names, none of which are 《Lamball – My First Pal》. Using the ability 〈Declare 1 card name. Choose all of your cards, and they get that declared card name in addition until end of turn.〉 of BP01-040 《Antique Dresser》, I added the card name 《Lamball – My First Pal》 to my cards. In this case, is the condition for BP01-100 《Beginning of the Adventure》 which states 〈If you have 3 or more Pals with 《My First》 in their different card names〉 fulfilled?EBP01-040 · EBP01-100 · EBP01-100SR
No, it is not fulfilled.
Flow of the GameDoes "[Rest 3 Souls] Draw 1 card" count as playing a card?EBP01-100 · EBP01-100SR
No, it does not.
Card AbilitiesI played a card that states 〈Choose up to 1 (specific) card from your hand and deploy it〉. What happens if there is no such specific card in my hand?EBP01-094
Choose 0 cards and resolve the rest of the effect.
Card AbilitiesOn my turn, I played an ability that states 〈It becomes night until the end of the opponent's next turn.〉 If the card that played this ability is put into the graveyard during the opponent's next turn, does it stop being night?EBP01-088 · EBP01-088SR · EBP01-089 · EBP01-094
No, it does not stop being night.
Even if the card that played this ability leaves the base, it is night until the end of the opponent's next turn.
Card AbilitiesA Pal's 【Power】 was reduced by a card effect and became equal to or less than the 【Damage】 that Pal had already taken. Is that Pal put into the graveyard?EBP01-082 · EBP01-085
Yes, it is put into the graveyard.
If the damage taken becomes greater than its 【Power】, the Pal is put into the graveyard.
Card AbilitiesA Pal's 【Power】 became 0 or less due to a card effect. Is that Pal put into the graveyard?EBP01-082 · EBP01-085
No, it is not put there.
A Pal is not put into the graveyard simply by its 【Power】 becoming 0 or less. It is put into the graveyard when the damage it has taken becomes greater than its 【Power】.
Q&A about CardsDoes BP01-079 《Depresso》 possess two instances of 【CONT】 Nocturnal (If it is night, this card gets [Power]+300)?EBP01-079 · EBP01-079SR
Yes, that is correct.
If it is night, it receives a total of +600 【Power】.
Q&A about CardsWhile BP01-075 《Katress – Abyssal Sorcerer》 was in my base, I activated the 【ACT】 ability of BP01-093 《Meat Cleaver》 and butchered one of my 5-cost Pals. The 【AUTO】 ability of 《Katress – Abyssal Sorcerer》 triggers; should I resolve this or the ability of 《Meat Cleaver》 that states 〈Reveal the top 3 cards of your deck, choose 1 card from among them and add it to hand, and put the remaining cards into the graveyard〉 first?EBP01-075 · EBP01-075OSR · EBP01-075SP · EBP01-093
Resolve the effect of 《Meat Cleaver》 first.
Even if an 【AUTO】 ability activates in the middle of resolving an effect, the pending 【AUTO】 ability will be processed after the resolution of the current effect finishes. In this case, after the effect of 《Meat Cleaver》 finishes resolving, you can choose a Pal with a cost of [butchered card's cost - 1] from the graveyard to deploy with the 【AUTO】 ability of 《Katress – Abyssal Sorcerer》. As a supplementary note, if a Pal with a cost of [butchered card's cost - 1] is among the cards put into the graveyard by the effect of 《Meat Cleaver》, it can be chosen by the 【AUTO】 ability of 《Katress – Abyssal Sorcerer》.
